It starts tomorrow!
So, a little about what's going on here. It's summer, and my joints are sore, I'm too tired all the time, I'm fighting allergies, asthma, and sinus problems, (annoying!!) and I can't seem to be happy about being outside in the beautiful weather, because I'm just depressed all the time... yes, I have more than just medical reasons for that, A LOT of it is situational, of course, BUT I am convinced that I CAN drastically improve all of these things simply by what I eat, and what I choose to eliminate from my diet. This will be tricky since I still have a hungry husband and two hungry kids who expect to eat more than a plate full of raw veggies for supper, so I will be cooking meals for my family while sticking to my experiment. Of course, along with this diet, I will be adding a regular exercise routine first thing when I get out of bed in the morning... I will not be getting up earlier than normal just to exercise, that's pushin me a little bit, lol, but since school is out for summer, I have the luxury of getting up at a nice time, and having an older brother to entertain younger sister while I do an hour of pilates in the morning :) So, this starts tomorrow... I am both super excited to experience the positive changes that I am expecting to get, and also scared, at how hard of a challenge this will become once I start... which is tomorrow!! So today sometime I will be going to the grocery store to stock my kitchen with: Apples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, grapefruit, oranges, peaches, fresh broccoli, carrots, green and red peppers, cauliflower, zucchini, tomatoes, celery, squash, cucumber, alfalfa sprouts, baby spinach, avocado, almonds, sunflower seeds, black beans, lima beans, etc.... all raw (beans cooked of course) NO ADDITIVES, what so ever! I'm talking salt, dressings, anything to ADD, is a NO. To drink? WATER. period. How often to eat? Whenever I want, til whenever I'm full!! Dieting the wrong way puts your body in starvation mode, which KILLS your metabolism. Which is why people get sick when they diet that way, and then gain a TON of weight back when they start eating again, because their metabolism shut down to keep the body alive. So, unlike eating and eating things that are HORRIBLE for you, like meat and dairy and fake food like margarine, it's all about what God put on this Earth for us to eat. Fruits, nuts, veggies, and water. I'm confident my body and mind will be thanking me after just the first week, and I can't wait to start recording every detail of the progress!! Thanks for following me during this next month!! I hope I can inspire someone to eat healthier too! Here we go!
